Where Did Summer Go?

Wow I could not believe it had been three months since we had posted on our blog! Busy, busy summer and now busy preparing for the holiday rush in our stores.

Hope everyone had a great summer and enjoyed it as much as we did. Weddings, family birthdays, vacations, and often just sitting back resting.

Deb is on vacation in Southern France and I am holding down the fort, hoping and praying they will return home safely!

Hopefully, we will have something new to share in the months to come.

Picture from the grandson’s wedding table we had so much planning and putting it together.

We were really practical…used a piece of organza fabric to make a table runner, dark chocolate ribbons on napkins folded with silver tucked into the pocket and three low rose bouquets to allow lots of conversation, and lots of candles, Barely visible in these pictures are the beautiful stemware from Germany that Deb inherited from Robert’s Mother, Mary, they are beautiful beyond words.

It was a small wedding with only special guests as the Bride arrived from the Philippines only days prior to the event and then they left shortly for Hawaii for a long honeymoon.

Open My Eyes That I Might “See”

Somewhere in time, perhaps even as a very young child, our eye’s begin to see the beauty of nature all around us. As adults we often get to busy to pause for the refreshment that can be seen in every flower, sunset, little critter or a child. This Sunday let’s commit once again to “stop and smell the roses.”

Deb’s vacation pictures remind us how beautiful nature is that surrounds us each day if take time to really see. She is sensitive to what her eyes see and beautifully captures for all to enjoy.

Chics Are Everywhere

Hey hey hey. I’m back from sunny Mexico, all relaxed and tan. Besides the time spent beside the pool, I’d have to say whale watching was my absolute favorite experience. This picture, well first off I DO have a swimsuit on with a coverup dress over it. Second I was taking a little siesta in the sun thanks to the drowsy effect of a rather strong margarita (I’m a lightweight when it comes to alcohol) while Robert took a gazillion photos of ocean waves. I hope the snoring didn’t bother anyone, LOL.

The humpback whales were migrating and having their babies and they were SO cute and BIG! Now back to cold cold cold Kansas weather.

Ok, a few more photos of our vacation just because I love being able to share how beautiful this place was.

You knew it was going to be a spectacular week in paradise when the cabbie drops you off in front of the hotel entrance and THIS is what you see.

The infinity pool was spectacular making it look like the pool just merged with the ocean.

Enjoying a little sippy sip of Mexican tequila in that margarita…the same one that put me to sleep on the beach later

The love of my life taking me out to celebrate my birthday. He is SO good to me and I feel so so lucky to have him.

While browsing through these categories I came across this and had to share. I cannot even imagine the labor involved in making this incredible design created by ludascrafts. Stunning to say the least. I hope the individual who purchases this appreciates the incredible talents of the designer.

Well if none of this head and neck gear caught your fancy, how about this? Cabo San Lucas….Deb and Robert will be shedding their warm weather gear for their beach attire soon…Now that is how I want to keep warm…I think she should take me along don’t you?

Actually this photo was taken a few years ago when I did go to Cabo with my sisters….I hope Deb enjoys her well deserved winter vacation and comes home all nice and brown and “ready to sew.”

Stay warm you cold weather friends….and pray for patience in our wait for spring. To our warm weather friends…..really wouldn’t you like house guests?????
